-遠くにいて近くに感じる、変わらない存在 –
社会の暮らしが変わり、昨日までの当たり前がそうではなくなった時に、
普遍性について考えています。肯定的に、変わらないものとはなんだろう。
98歳になった僕の祖父と画面越しに話をしていた時「体に気をつけやあね。」という一言。
家で妻との毎晩の食卓。ただ同じ空間にそこにいてくれること。
いつまでも変わらないものは、そんな日常の中にほのかに灯る気持ちではないでしょうか。
それは社会を変えるほどの力はないけれど、
一人の人間を昨日より前向きにさせてくれる程度の力はあるのだと今改めて感じます。
「家族」は河原の石のようで、流れる水の中でゴツゴツとぶつかる時もあるし、
遠くにいくこともある。
流されて不揃いに形が変わりながら、だんだんと丸くなっていく。
そんな石を拾い集めるように、物をつくってみたいと思いました。

– an existente which never changes, feels closer, even with the distance –
I often have been thinking about universality nowadays in this era,
when our social life has been changed and „usual“ things of yesterday are no more as usual.
What is the thing, which never changes, in positive way?
When I talked to my Grandpa in my hometown who will be 98 soon this year
through the computer monitor, and saying „take care yourself“.
Dinners with my wife every night at home. Just being in same space.
The thing which never changes might be a feeling like a dim light in our daily life.
I recognize it now, It’s not powerful as it can change the social society,
but has enough power that can make you think a bit more positive than yesterday.
„Family“ is like stones on riverbed, they strike each other in the flows of the river water,
and can be flowed away.
They are flowed, and changes their forms irregularly,
and became smoother and rounder with the time.
I wanted to make pieces now, as you pick up the stones.
